The Whoniverse is full of nonsense and quirky stuff, but also full of very moving moments and great quotes. I experimented with black ink and crayons and since this quote is from an episode featuring Van Gogh, I wanted to do something reminiscent of the great painter. If S05E10, Vincent and the Doctor, doesn’t make you cry than you’re as cold-hearted as a Dalek. This excerpt, this brilliantly delivered monologue by Bill Nighy, and Tony Curran’s raw portrayal of a tortured soul is in itself a masterpiece and always leaves me devastated. The song in the background is Chances, by Athletes, a band I saw life 2011 in Gloucester, together with a dear (and ginger!) friend of mine who passed away very suddenly and way too soon. I’m crying typing this and I miss you, Ellis. All the time.
